AIR ROUTES

A small world, mapped in Houdini.

I wanted to play with some real-world data, so I downloaded a dataset of major air routes and airports from OpenFlights and crammed it all into Houdini.

Starting at Cassidy Airport on Kiritimati in Kiribati, about as middle-of-the-Pacific as one can get, you can get halfway around the world within one or two hops.

It’s a small world.
